Post Public Hearing Summary
WestCAT would like to thank our riders who attended the January 15th Public Hearing. Your input as well as the 50+ written public comments received by WestCAT staff during the 30-day public comment period was very helpful and our planning staff has already begun incorporating your comments and ideas as they make refinements.
The next step will be for staff to present the proposed changes to WestCAT routes, schedules and fare structure first to WestCAT’s Finance and Administration Committee on January 26th and then to the full Board of Directors at their February 12th meeting who will discuss WestCAT’s financial condition and who will then take final action on an approved service plan. After which time, staff will begin final work on a new Spring schedule to be introduced in March 2009 to coincide with the opening of the new Hercules Transit Center. The exact date is to be announced. The February 12th meeting will allow riders another opportunity to submit comments. The staff at WestCAT is doing everything possible to develop service plans that will meet our budgetary goals while providing the highest level of service to our riders.
