Our Transfer Policy | Ticket Order Form

How much to ride?  Need Information on the WestCAT Transfer policy?  This is the place to be.  The current fares and transfer information are listed below as well as information on purchasing our various tickets and passes.  Bus operators carry no change, therefore exact fare is required.


New Monthly Pass and Fare Structures

Effective January 01, 2008, a new monthly pass & fare structure will go into effect as follows:

  • General Public Discount Tickets (10 rides per sheet) =  $12.50 per Sheet

  • General Public Monthly Pass (unlimited rides on local fixed route, 30Z & express) =  $40.00

  • Senior/Disabled Monthly Pass (unlimited rides on local fixed route, 30Z & express) =  $20.00

  • Martinez Link 30Z tickets will be eliminatedHowever, the Martinez Link 30Z service between Hercules & Martinez will continue. The fare will be the same as the local fixed route.

The current cash fares “WILL NOT” change on any of WestCAT's existing services.

We will continue honoring General Public $1 tickets & 30Z General Public & Senior/Disabled tickets. 


All fares are for one-way trips

WestCAT discount tickets and monthly passes

For the current ticket prices, see the charts below.  These may be purchased via US mail by enclosing a check, money order, or commuter check made payable to: WestCAT, or in person Monday-Friday 7:30am-6:00pm in the lobby of our administrative office located at 601 Walter Ave, Pinole.  The WestCAT administrative office is located between Pinole Shores Drive and the Del Monte Shopping center off of San Pablo Avenue.

Please be advised that when paying cash for tickets at our administrative office, due to recent audit recommendations, WestCAT does not accept bills larger than $50 for any one transaction.  WestCAT charges a $20.00 fee on all returned checks. WestCAT accepts ATM debit cards for any ticket or monthly pass purchases conducted at our Administrative office in Pinole. To request your location/business as a potential WestCAT ticket outlet, call (510) 724-3331 ext. 17.

WestCAT local fixed route & express bus discount tickets, day passes and monthly passes are valid on WestCAT Lynx buses as local fare credit only.

Click on the "Ticket Order Form" tab located at the top of this page and you will find a printable ticket and monthly pass order form that you can use when mailing in your order.  Please be advised that orders are currently not accepted via this website.  Unless purchaser sends a letter to WestCAT releasing the agency from liability for lost or stolen passes, all monthly passes will be mailed via certified mail and a signature will be required.  Therefore, if you would prefer we send your pass to your work address please supply it with your form.

Day Passes

Sold only onboard by bus driver.

Allows pass holder unlimited travel in any direction on Local Fixed Route, Martinez Link 30Z and Express buses only.  Passes are valid for use through the last bus on the service day on which sold.  Passes may only be purchased on the day of travel.  Drivers do not carry change so please have exact fare.

Lynx Monthly Passes

Allows pass holder unlimited travel in any direction on WestCAT Lynx, Local Fixed Route, Martinez Link 30Z and Express buses only (not valid for travel on weekends and some holidays when Lynx does not operate).  Passes are valid for use through the last bus of the month in which sold.

BART Plus Regional Tickets

Sold only at BART ticket and pass outlets and online

Valid on WestCAT local fixed route, Martinez Link 30Z and express routes only at no additional charge.  Valid for 2-weeks and includes both BART rail and bus fare.  Call (510) 236-BART for information.  The “5-day grace period” for BART Plus ticket holders applies only to BART rail, and not bus.  (BART Plus is not accepted on the Lynx).

Tickets

Please Note: Passengers transferring from a local fixed route, express, or Martinez Link 30Z bus to a Transbay Lynx bus must hand their ticket directly to the driver who will punch it like a transfer and then hand it back to them for deposit into the Lynx bus farebox. Do not place Lynx tickets into the farebox of the local fixed route, express, or Martinez Link 30Z buses.  


Day Passes

Sold by the WestCAT drivers only and are honored for unlimited travel on WestCAT local fixed route, Martinez Link 30Z and express buses only.  They are not valid on Dial-A-Ride.  These passes are valid for use through the last bus on the service day on which sold.  Drivers do not carry change, so exact change is required. WestCAT discount tickets may not be used to purchase single-day passes.  When transferring to another transit agency at shared bus stops a WestCAT transfer is still required.  Passes must be purchased on the day in which they will be used, there are no pre-sales of day passes.  WestCAT Day Passes are valid for local fare credit only on the WestCAT Lynx.  Parents with more than 2 children over the age of 6 must pay full fare for each child every time you board or purchase a day pass for the child.


WestCAT Lynx Monthly Passes

Sold at the WestCAT administrative office or by certified mail only and will be honored for unlimited travel on WestCAT Lynx, the local fixed routes, Martinez Link 30Z, and express buses, during the month of issue as indicated on the front of the pass.  These passes are valid for use through the last bus on the last service day of the month in which sold.  They are not valid for use on Dial-A-Ride or ADA Paratransit or for weekend service on any route.  WestCAT monthly passes are valid on WestCAT buses only.  WestCAT is not responsible for lost or stolen passes. WestCAT Monthly Passes

Sold at the WestCAT administrative office or by mail only and will be honored for unlimited travel on all WestCAT local fixed routes, Martinez Link 30Z, and express buses during the month of issue as indicated on the front of the pass.  WestCAT monthly passes are valid for local fare credit only on the Lynx. The transfer fare of $2.50 for general public, or $1.25 for Senior/Disabled may be added to continue travel on the Lynx to San Francisco. WestCAT monthly passes are valid on WestCAT buses only. Please request a transfer when transferring to another transit agency, such as AC Transit.  WestCAT is not responsible for lost or stolen passes.


Employer-Based (Pretax) Sales Program

Employers may sign up with the following programs to allow their employees to purchase WestCAT discount tickets  (and other Bay Area transit passes and tickets) on a pretax basis.  Interested employees need to contact their employer for more information.


WageWorks

WageWorks is a leading provider of pre-tax commuter benefits with products and services appropriate for employers of any size.  Employers call 1-866.602.3887 for more information.

At the present, WestCAT does not accept WageWorks commuter cards. 


Commuter Checks

You may redeem up to ten Commuter Checks at one time.  Fill in the information on the back of your Commuter Check before you redeem it.   If you buy tickets or passes that cost less than the value of your Commuter Check, the difference cannot be returned as change or merchandise and WestCAT will not issue a credit.  If you buy tickets or passes that cost more than the value of your Commuter Check, you can make up the difference with cash, ATM, or a personal check.  Each Commuter Check has an expiration date printed on it.  You must use your Commuter Check before it expires.  Expired Commuter checks cannot be accepted or replaced.
