WestCAT's Annual Stuff-A-Bus Holiday Food Drive

It's time to clean out your pantry for a good cause. Mark your calendars. WestCAT invites you to join representatives from the Western Contra Costa Transit Authority (WestCAT), and MV Transportation in our annual Stuff-A-Bus Holiday Food Drive. This is a favorite event for us, and one that we look forward to every year. This year we hope to help even more people within the communities of Contra Costa and Solano Counties by beating last year's record of 590 pounds of food collected. No donation is too small, all are welcome and appreciated.

According to the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano, "The Hunger in America 2010 study is the first research study to capture the significant connection between the recent economic downturn and an increased need for emergency food assistance. The number of people in need of food has increased 46% since the previous study in 2006."

WestCAT, in coordination with Lucky's Supermarket in the City of Hercules and the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano will be accepting donations of non-perishable food items on Friday, 12/16/11 from 9:00am-4:00pm at 1590 Sycamore Ave. in Hercules. Come help us to Stuff-a-Bus! Stop by and visit with Santa and drop off your donations at the big decorated WestCAT bus that will be parked in the Lucky's parking lot.

Donations will also be accepted at our WestCAT office from 12/1/11-12/19/11, 601 Walter Avenue, Pinole, from 7:30am -6:00pm, Monday-Friday.
