WestCAT is advising customers to please call (510) 724-7993 to check on your route before you go to your bus stop. As many customers have noticed, WestCAT service has been struggling with a lot of late or missing runs in recent months, and our customers are finding it difficult to predict whether or not their bus will be arriving on time or at all. We would like everyone to be aware that we are, like most transit agencies throughout the Bay Area suffering from a shortage in drivers. However, both the WestCAT staff and our contractor MV Transportation are diligently working to cover key routes as well as attract and train new drivers, and other personnel to fill vital positions. We are very aware that this has had a negative impact on our customers, and we are meeting daily with our operator to identify possible solutions to handle this crisis. In the meantime, we are advising customers to check our Twitter feed and Facebook page for service alerts, as well as 511.org, our website www.westcat.org, or you may call us directly (510) 724-7993 before departing to your stop. We apologize for the inconvenience, and thank you for your continued patronage. We will continue updating customers on the status of our services, and will continue our work to get back on track and provide you with the level of service that you expect and deserve.
