WestCAT Spare the Fare Free Ride Program
When you Spare the Air, WestCAT will Spare the Fare. If a Spare the Air Day is officially called on a weekday in October, WestCAT will be providing free rides on that day (Monday – Friday Spare the Air Days Only)*. Spare the Fare free rides will be available on all WestCAT routes, including Lynx Transbay service to San Francisco, while funding is available. This is a great opportunity to try public transit while significantly reducing your carbon footprint.
No special ticket or coupon is necessary to ride for free on Spare the Fare days. To enjoy free Spare the Fare days, just hop on board any WestCAT bus on an official weekday Spare the Air day (Monday – Friday only) starting October 1, 2021. Free rides will continue to be provided while funding remains available. This program will end when funding runs out.
Please note that credit to Monthly Pass holders for free fare ride days will not be provided during the Spare the Fare promotion period. Please keep this special promotion in mind when choosing to purchase a monthly pass.

* Weekday Spare the Air days only. Free service not available on Spare the Air Days on Saturdays and Sundays. Spare the Air free rides will be provided until funding for this program runs out. After funds are expended, free rides will no longer be provided.
